we believe movement is foundational to strength, confidence, recovery, and long-term performance. our goal is to help each individual move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities they love with confidence.

Meet the Founder

Kinetics of Utah was created with one mission in mind: helping people move better, recover smarter, and perform at their highest level — both physically and mentally.

Founded by a movement specialist and performance coach passionate about human performance, Kinetics of Utah combines corrective exercise, recovery strategies, athletic development, and personalized coaching to help individuals feel stronger, more confident, and more connected to their bodies.

The vision behind Kinetics started with a simple belief: true performance is built through intentional movement, consistency, education, and purpose. Whether working with athletes, active adults, or individuals recovering from injury, the goal is always the same — create long-term results, not temporary fixes.

Growing up around athletics and seeing the physical and mental demands placed on athletes inspired the creation of a system that goes beyond traditional training. Kinetics focuses on movement quality, muscle activation, injury prevention, recovery, confidence, and overall performance optimization.

Today, Kinetics of Utah works with individuals who want more than just workouts — they want guidance, structure, accountability, and a plan designed specifically for them.

After undergoing 8 rounds of chemo for Non-Hodkins Lymphoma, and being completed drained of all my energy for an entire year I started asking around for Kinesiologist or Personal Trainer recommendations.  I wanted someone that would work with my unique issues from post cancer weight gain and adrenal fatigue to my autoimmune neuromuscular disease.

I found Chelsi Sorensen through a recommendation from a trusted friend in the health world.  After one 45 minute consultation phone call, I could tell we were going to be on the same page, and she would be able to understand how to work with me on an individual basis.  

Not only did we tackle my physical needs, but we soon identified the connection between mental health and physical health and Chelsi was able to help me work through the emotional scaring left behind by cancer and other life events.  Chelsi and I worked together almost 4 days a week for a year and then cut back a little to 2-3 days a week for another 6 months, and I can honestly say she was exactly what I needed during that time in my life.  

I made huge mental, physical, and nutritional gains while working with Chelsi.  She harnessed my own drive and dedication into the direction that it needed to go, in order to meet my goals.

I first met Chelsi when I was six weeks post-knee replacement surgery. I had difficulty with swelling in the right replacement knee and right leg, pain, and my body was simply hurting all over. As a healthy, active, senior I was discouraged that my body was not healing as quickly as I expected and felt very vulnerable. Chelsi spent so much time with me assessing my body, areas of pain, weakness, swelling, overall discomfort as well as my state of mind. I began a journey of healing that day with Chelsi who spent an exceptional amount of time working to identify the sources of my pain, therapeutically working on me and quietly teaching/guiding me to a pathway of improvement. My knee and associated pain began improving immediately which helped my state of mind. We had weekly visits for a month, biweekly for a month, and now ongoing monthly sessions that continue to further my health journey.
